Tuesday, September 4th: Visit to Cave Bath in Miskolctapolca.
Conference participants and accompanying persons are also invited to participate in the visit to Cave Bath in Miskolctapolca.
The Cave Bath, the karst chambers that have been formed during several millennia hold thermal water which is unmatched in Europe is
open only for the conference participants in this time!
You can find stuffs necessary for the visit in your conference bag, except the swimsuit! Do not forget to take your swimsuit into your suitcase!
The Cave Bath is a thermal bath in a natural cave in Miskolctapolca, which is a part of the city of Miskolc, Hungary, and is unique in Europe. The thermal water (temperature: 30°C, 86°F) is
reputed to cure pain in the joints, and since it has lower salt content than most thermal waters (around 1000 mg/liter), people can bathe in it for much longer, practically for an unlimited
period of time. By September 2002 the sauna park reconstruction and the main building and the bathing hall with a relaxing terrace, boarded by a rock wall in the height, had been finished,
which, with its water of 120 square m increases the water surface used for entertainment and medical treatment to 1267 square m.
If the bathing is not comfortable for you there is the possibility for a walk without getting wet in the extraordinarily nice and special area.
Welcome drinks and refreshments will be served under the glass cupola that can be opened in summer.

Wednesday, September 5th:Visit to Tokaj Historic Wine Region, conference dinner.
Conference participants and accompanying persons are also invited to participate in the visit to Szegi winery at the Tokaj Foothills. This land was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The slogan of this wine region is: „The wine of kings, and the king of wines”
After a short walk in the 6-700 years old rhyolite tuff maze the conference diner will be served in the cellar with 8 different wines tasting. The cellar foreman will interpret not only the
tasting method but the history of wines. The temperature of the cellar is about 10-12°C and the humidity is about 88-92%. There is possibility to buy bottled wine (3€-30€), even very old ones.
The oldest bottle in this cellar museum is originated from 1680.
The Tokaj Foothills (Tokaj Hegyalja) became the leading Hungarian wine region after the Turkish occupation, and Tokaji wine practically started to gain its international fame around that time.
Wine marketing has existed since as early as the 16-17th centuries, and in 1737 the King even had to create laws to protect Tokaji wine since everyone in the proximity of the region tried to
sell wine under the name 'Tokaj'. The laws included a list of all the place names where the production of Tokaji wine was legally permitted, and so was the first „closed-wine-region” born.
Today, we find three major indigenous grape varieties in the Tokaj Wine Region: Furmint, Hárslevelû and Yellow Muscatel, all of them are suitable for botrytization. The cool cellars of Tokaj
are visited by hundreds of people every year.
